Make a pair of "normal", sarcastic nutcrackers come to life. Easy!

PROCESS

I invented a hybrid animation method by filming the characters in traditional stop-motion then animating the faces in 2D. This animation was then 3D tracked, mapped and composited onto the stop-motion character footage.

RESULT

The final spot came in under budget and the result is a perfect blend of real and fantasy.
